CREDITS
=======
TODAY/AMI was written in Lattice C 4.01 by David Plummer,
1990. The data files came from a program originally written
by Mike Butler on an IBM VM/CMS system. I will assume
that all credit for the data should go to Mike Butler.
All code is original. Although the data files are very
similar to those used by Nag, and could be easily
converted, I decided to write a program to stand alone.
This program is freely distributable sharware with a
suggested contribution of $5.
Source code is available on disk for an additional $10,
which includes media and postage.
This program and accompanying files may be distributed by
any BBS or disk collection distributor (such as Fred Fish)
as long as the code remains unmodified.

DISCLAIMER
==========
To the best of my knowledge, all data files are public
domain and all quotations are accurately credited. If this
is not the case, please let me know before you sue me. I
assume no responsibility for the contents of the data files,
or the suitability of the program for any purpose. Use
this program at your own risk. Have fun!
If anyone knows of the actual origin of these data files,
or if they are not indeed public domain, let me know as soon
as possible!
OVERVIEW
========
TODAY will provide you with a synopsis of history for the
current date, or any other date you specify. TODAY can be
invoked by simply by typing TODAY on the command line.
There are several command line options:
-o Only once per day, so that you can put it in
your startup sequence and not have to see it
on every boot.
-c Clear the screen first
-b Don't report birthdays
-e Don't report special events
You can also specify a specific date to check.
Example:
TODAY -b -c 0809
Would check for events only on August 9th, and would
clear the screen before listing them.
NOTE: In order to function properly, the TODAY.DAT
files (12 of them) must be in a directory and have
the logical name TODAY: assigned to that directory.
Everything else should be fairly straigtforward!
You can send bug reports, suggestions, or anything
non-injurious to me at my address above, or on
BITNET as PLUMMERD@UREGINA1.
Enjoy.
